Wheels Painted

I got the Customline up on jack stands to paint the wheels.

I didn't intend on the red to be on very long, especially not a decade. It was cheap red spray paint and didn't last very long. I cleaned up the wheels and used a Rustoleum Enamel (Ace brand) this time. Hopefully it will hold up better and longer.

Cleanup

I removed all the random items that were inside the car from moving it back in 2015 from Norman to Vinita. I also pressure washed off all the buildup of sitting these past years. There was plenty of moss growing on it, especially the front end which was facing North.

In April of 2022, I finally got the Customline hauled to our house. I temporarily parked it at my parents house seven years ago. Sorry Mom!

A huge thank you to our Niece and her husband for making this happen for us!

Now I will have more opportunities to tinker with it at my house.

 Finally in our driveway!

Update

Welcome! The year is 2020. We've been through Tiger King, Covid-19, murder hornets, you name it we've seen it.

Once again, it's been forever since I have posted any updates. I have accumulated a few parts the last couple years. I need more wire but still plan on replacing piece by piece and leaving it 6-volt positive ground. We have moved once again, but this time across town. I need to get the car drug home so I can begin tinkering on it.

I have started a side gig for auto detailing around the area. Feel free to follow along by using the links below.

Back at it

It's hard to believe it's been five years since my last post. We moved back home in 2015 and the car has been overlooked ever since. I recently sold an extra vehicle I had and I'm going to use some of that cash to try to get the Customline going. The number one item on the agenda is wiring. The plan is to keep it 6 volt positive ground. The bad wiring was the main reason I stopped working on it to start with. After that, I'll replace the wheel cylinders and rubber brake hoses and tires. Hopefully more to come here soon.

Master Cylinder Project: Complete

As of July 2, I have completed the master cylinder upgrade. The car is now fitted with a '67 Mustang dual bowl MC and I have finished getting it plumbed in. The last piece to the puzzle was getting the tail light switch inline.

Now that I have this step complete, I will replace the wheel cylinders and brake hoses next. That will finish up the brake overhaul to get it road ready.

The next major project will be rewiring it. The 61 year old cloth covered wire in the car has seen better days.  The plan for now is to replace each piece one at a time.

Carburetor - Ford 94 rebuild

While in the middle of the master cylinder project, I went ahead and started the carburetor rebuild. The carburetor only seemed to have one issue, a leak. But, I feel better knowing that everything internal is new.

Here is a before and after shot.

I am getting close to finishing up the master cylinder project. More to come on that soon.
